Murder Mystery - 13th October 2018

There was a touch of Midsomer Murders here in the village recently when not one but two victims fell foul of a femme fatale.

The village hall was transformed into an American speakeasy where Hollywood’s elite and a bunch of hoodlums – mostly, it turned out, one and the same – had gathered.

The reason? To hear Hollywood’s hottest film director, Daryl Pancake, announce a stellar but controversial cast for his next movie. Yes, as you would expect, this was a Murder Mystery party where egos and jealousy prevailed, resulting in the director’s wife killing off two of her rivals. Managed by two professional actors, Seymour Guns (aka Michael Dacre) and Candy Cane (aka Suzanne Kendall ), and brilliantly supported by a bunch of amateurs from the village, this evening of mayhem, molls and murder was a huge success.

Seymour Guns outlines the plot while Dan Sawnight (aka Ken) applauds and listens for clues.

Pierre the French Brummie chef (aka Phil) drops a few hints to the amusement of the assembled crowd.

At the end it was left to the Chairman of the Residents’ Association, Herr Doktor Professor Larry Gutstein (aka Dave), to thank all those on the committee who had worked so hard to make the evening a great success, especially Laura Lord for once more creating a superb three course meal which was declared a culinary delight.
